Skateboards FAQs

Q: What’s an ollie?
A: An ollie is the most basic jumping trick performed on a street deck. By simultaneously pushing down and the kicktail and jumping forward (make sure to scrape your feet up the grip tape), you can bring the skateboard off the ground with you. Building off this, you can move on to kick-flips, pop shove-its, and heel-flips.

Q: What are the advantages of skate shoes?
A: Skate shoes have more padding and are made from highly-durable material so they don’t become worn out after being scraped against grip tape. They are also very casual and comfortable for everyday wear.

Q: What are the main differences between a longboard and a regular skateboard?
A: Longboards have large, soft wheels meant for rolling easily over debris, and they are mainly used for transportation and speed. They are also long and unsuitable for jumping tricks like kick-flips.
